Alexander Varvarenko (Varamar) personally imposed a WhatsApp "fine" in order to avoid paying an undisputed brokerage commission

The more noise they make around police, lawsuits, and "reputation," the more obvious the central fact becomes: the undisputed brokerage commission is still unpaid.

Dear colleagues, Please be informed that:

  1. Through a lawyer, Mr. Varvarenko (Varamar DMCC) has applied to the police of Ukraine seeking to initiate criminal proceedings against me under Part 1 of Article 289.
  2. Today, I received from the court the full text of the claim filed personally by Mr. Varvarenko and by Varamar DMCC. They are seeking USD 100,000 from me for alleged damage to the claimants' reputation.

For reference, here is the meaning of the cited provision of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

Part 1 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for liability for the unlawful taking of a vehicle (car theft / unlawful taking of a car, motorcycle, tractor, etc.) without the intent to appropriate it.

My comments: Most likely, Varvarenko and Varamar meant something "slightly" different. But by now, nothing surprises me anymore. All I can do is laugh. With them, nothing is ever quite as it should be.

Part 1 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for liability for extortion. This is a criminal offence consisting of a demand to transfer property, rights to property, or to perform actions of a proprietary nature, where such demands are accompanied by:

  • threats of violence (against the victim or their close relatives);
  • threats of restriction of rights or freedoms;
  • threats of damage to or destruction of property;
  • threats of disclosure of confidential information

Penalty: restraint of liberty for up to 5 years, or imprisonment for the same term.

Many of my market colleagues say this situation looks like a battle between good and evil, where dark forces, taking advantage of the trust of colleagues, do not hesitate to forget their obligations expressly set out in the charter party. In response to the many requests from colleagues to cover this process in as much detail as possible, I state that I will do everything in my power to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to see the true face of Mr. Varvarenko.

As the saying goes, to be informed is to be armed. Remember this when you cross paths with the very real character in this non-fiction story called Varamar. As my own case clearly shows, words such as decency, honor, and dignity are unknown there. Stay vigilant, and may God protect you all.

The story began here:

The first Varvarenko appearance:

Here is what Mr. Varvarenko personally wrote on 23 March, 2026 to me after my very first, fairly polite and rather mild circular stating that Varamar DMCC was not paying commission:

Konstantin, good afternoon! I have just received copies of your circular from colleagues. I do not know what exactly the delay in your commission is connected with, nor what this deal is about in general, since I am not involved in the operational business of this company. But since you told Dmitriy that "you know me and wrote to me," I decided to intervene. I have received nothing from you.

However, by choosing to send such a letter, you could not have failed to realize that you were causing the company damage incomparably greater than your commission, which you could always have claimed through the courts. Accordingly, as of today, we have engaged a lawyer and will be compelled to seek compensation from you for the damage. Your commission, meanwhile, will not be paid, as it will go toward partial compensation for reputational damage.

In the meantime, Varamar will return with a full claim in the coming weeks, once the approximate scale of the damage becomes clear.

It should be clarified that by that time I had already been sitting in the payment queue for one and a half months. Over a period of ten days, I wrote twice directly to Mr. Varvarenko by email. And of course, he supposedly received nothing from me. Who would doubt it. I am, naturally, expected to believe that he somehow did not receive the very emails in which I was respectfully and earnestly asking him to intervene in the prolonged non-payment of my commission.

As can be clearly seen, Mr. Varvarenko personally imposed the unlawful fine and expressly stated that the COMMISSION WOULD NOT BE PAID. He writes about some alleged reputational damage to Varamar. In other words, this character hid from me for one and a half months and did not pay the commission, but the moment the circular appeared, he suddenly found it appropriate to contact me on WhatsApp with notice of a fine.

To be continued.
