Stowage and CBM
Three quick checks: the volume of your units, whether a parcel weighs out or cubes out in a given hold, and what freight is charged on when the rate is per weight or measure.
How it is calculated
- CBM = length × width × height, times the number of units
- Space needed = weight × stowage factor (m³/t)
- Usable space = capacity × (1 − broken stowage)
- Fits if space needed ≤ usable space
- Weight or measure: freight is charged on the greater of weight in tonnes and volume in m³
