Vessel classes
Seven classes the desk fixes or considers, from a 3,000 mt coaster to a supramax. Typical ranges, not specific ships; the fixtures show what each class carried for our clients.
Coaster / short-sea
1,500 – 6,000 dwt · mostly gearless, some geared
Small single-deck vessels for short-sea parcels. The company's salt, grain and bagged fixtures of 2,700 – 4,100 mt between Turkish, Greek and Danube ports were carried on this class.
General cargo ship
3,000 – 15,000 dwt · usually geared (cranes 20 – 60 t)
Box-shaped holds, often with own cranes, suitable for breakbulk, bagged cargo and smaller project units where shore gear is limited.
Tween-decker
5,000 – 20,000 dwt · geared
An intermediate deck divides the holds, which helps with mixed and bagged cargo and with separating parcels for different receivers.
Multipurpose / heavy-lift
8,000 – 30,000 dwt · heavy cranes 80 – 900 t (combined lifts)
The workhorse of project cargo: open hatches, strengthened tank tops, tween decks and heavy-lift cranes for out-of-gauge and heavy units.
Handysize bulk carrier
15,000 – 40,000 dwt · usually geared (4 cranes ~30 t)
Geared bulk carriers that fit most Black Sea and Mediterranean ports. The wheat fixtures of 25,000 – 27,500 mt from Constanta to Spain sit in this class.
Supramax / Ultramax
50,000 – 65,000 dwt · geared
Larger geared bulk carriers for full cargoes of grain, fertilizers and minerals on longer trades.
Ro-Ro
by lane metres, not dwt · ramp, no cranes
Rolling cargo drives on and off over a ramp — buses, trucks and self-propelled machinery.
